Situated close to Wicklow town near to the East coast of Ireland is the golf course at Wicklow Golf Club. Found in the county of the same name this course is in an excellent location to welcome golfers from across the rest of Ireland as well as from further afield due to its relative proximity to the capital, Dublin.

The club was founded in 1904 and was originally just a 9-hole layout, it was extended and redeveloped around some 90 years later by the dynamic duo of Tom Craddock and Pat Ruddy.  Since then the design of the course has remained relatively untouched and has been allowed to mature in to a fine example of an Irish parkland course.

Its location near to the wild and stunning coastline of Wicklow actually lends well to its parkland style and its 18 holes offer a par of 71 and measure 5487 metres. Features include numerous contours and undulations whose presence is thanks to its unique location, hazards here are plentiful also and are very varied in their nature. Expect rock formations, bodies of water and numerous bunkers across the course which add extra challenges to this already tricky but refreshing course.

Facilities at Wicklow are extensive and the club is well equipped to meet the needs of all of its members as well as visitors. In the clubhouse you will find a bar and restaurant providing a great array of refreshments for players to enjoy after their rounds. The club can also provide services for a variety of functions and has a number of tailor-made options. There is also a well-stocked professional shop and the clubhouse also provides free wifi to players which is a further bonus.

Tee times for this course for visitors have fair availability throughout the week though at weekends it is somewhat restricted due to the use of the course by members. That aside, the array of times are spread well throughout the day and there is something to suit all. Green fee rates here generally offer good value for money when you consider the quality of the course and its facilities. The club also has a number of membership options available for those wishing to make this a permanent feature in their golfing diary.

Due to its location, the club is well connected by road to the majority of the rest of Ireland and also Northern Ireland. The nearby transport hub of Dublin can also provide links for visitors from further afield.  The town of Wicklow has a good range of accommodation options for those wishing to stay here and there are a number of attractions nearby that should appeal to visitors of all ages.
