Found in the south east of  Ireland within the county of  Wexford is the aptly named Wexford Golf Club and its golf course. The local area has a number of places of interest and attractions for visitors of all ages. Some people may also recognise a number of the beaches near to the site as they were featured in the international blockbuster Saving Private Ryan and are well worth a visit by all, film lover or not.

The club was originally formed in 1961 but was not fully affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland until 1966. The course was designed by Jeff Howes who has worked on many courses throughout Ireland, from  Cork to Kildare as well as further afield in  BernSwitzerland

Comprising of 18 holes, the course here is of a parkland style and measures 5629 metres from the white tees with a par of 71 for gentlemen. The course has seen a number of upgrades over the years to make this an enjoyable yet interesting challenge for golfers of all standards and this is sure to be an appealing golf experience for all.

Facilities at the club are good and there is a luxurious and spacious restaurant for all to enjoy after their rounds as well as a bar area complete with lounge. There is also a well-appointed professional golf shop offering a good selection of apparel and equipment for both sale and hire. The club is  also home to not one, but two PGA professionals who offer a number of coaching and tuition options for players of all ages and abilities.

Visitors are more than welcome at the club and tee time availability for them is reasonable, although somewhat restricted at peak times. Green fee rates are reasonable for visitors here and reflect the location and standard of both the course and club. There are a number of discounts and offers to be had here at certain times of the playing year.

Wexford is well connected to much of the south and east of Ireland by road. The club is also ideally situated near to the busy port at  Rosslare which operates a number of passenger and freight crossings daily to both  Wales and  France allowing visitors from further afield to access the area with ease.  There are a number of accommodation options in and around the local area which should appeal to the tastes and budgets of most visitors.

Unusual course. Not 2loops of nine. Fairly long but fair. Condition of course was great and greens best I've played this year. Tough last 7 holes and take advice on 18th.
