Waterville Golf Club rests on the southwest coast of Ireland in Waterville, County Kerry, known for its large collection of beautiful golf courses.

The course at Waterville is a challenging 18 hole 72 par links course, with its origins tracing back to 1889. At the beginning of the 70’s, the course was redesigned by John Mulcahy with the help of Eddie Hackett opening in 1973, and again later by Tom Fazio, with work being completed in 2006.

Although the course was built for the more experienced golfer at 6675m long, each hole has a choice of tees opening the course up for everyone. Over the years the course has been host to many professional tournaments and has been played by some of the most famous faces in golf.

The course lies facing the coastline, with sea winds often coming into play during your round. However, the breath-taking views its location provides really make this an exceptional course to play.

The clubhouse at Waterville really does have everything, from a restaurant and bar serving locally sourced seafood, to a professionally-taught golf school, a fully stocked pro shop to locker rooms decorated with golfing memorabilia.

Green Fees for this course vary greatly depending on the time of year, but discounts are offered throughout the year for a second round. Golf carts, pull trolleys and clubs are all available to hire from the club, as are caddies provided prior reservations are made.

Waterville is surrounded by a number of hotels, meaning you will never be short of somewhere to stay on your visit. County Kerry is known to be one of the wettest regions of Ireland so rain is to be expected, however any well-structured golf course will be designed to withstand the weather, meaning play here should not be affected by the rain.

There are a number of other golf courses near to Waterville, which means it is also an ideal location for those looking to play more than one golf course on their trip. You can find other courses which are close to this one below this description.

    surprise on the south coast

this is a delightful course, much better than i expected. people should be prepared for a fantastic day here! a little expensive at times, but i would definitely go again, so no real complaints! Fresh seafood in the restaurant after our round made the day complete. this course should definitely have a higher rating here! planning on taking my dad to play this course in summer, brill!

Excellent course with beautifully laid out hole--challenging but not too much from the greens. A great day. (Round played: Sep 2014 - Score: 90 Handicap: 20.6)

6 handicap golfer - played April 2013. Course was very quiet when I played but we were greeted upon arrival and the clubhouse was open for food. The course is superb with a number of great holes. It would seem that fortunately the greens were fine and the ball ran smoothly. I have to say that the first 4 holes are good, but I felt that it became truly outstanding from 5 onwards. For a course that I had been looking forward to for many years it was slightly underwhelming in terms of the overall experience but there is no doubting the quality of the design.

A place of full of tradition, very good condition in non-recurring nature. All together will take away the language. Before louder impressions, we came to play golf. Here, we got an authentic impression of classic golf in Ireland. A great experience for real left fans. Real world class!
