Tuam Golf Club and its associated golf course can be found towards the west of  Ireland within County  Galway.  Lying to the south east of the town of Tuam itself the local area has a number of attractions and places of interest for visitors. The bustling and vibrant city of Galway can be found around 35 km to the south west of the site and is a go-to destination for visitors to the country thanks to its great cultural diversity.

The foundations of the club date back to the early 20th century when the original idea for the club was spawned. Over the years the club has played on various courses in numerous locations however the course as we know it today was laid out by the legendary Irish favourite, Eddie Hackett in 1975.

Made up of 18 holes, the course here is of a traditional parkland style and measures 5558 metres from the white tees with a par of 72. Features here are definitive of this style and players should expect a good selection of mature trees as well as gently contoured greens and a number of water hazards and bunkers to provide challenge. There is also an abundance of flora and fauna on the course and players are sure to enjoy this interesting, and at times, challenging course.

Facilities at the club are good and the clubhouse is home to a bar and restaurant for all to enjoy as well as well-appointed locker rooms. Furthermore the onsite professional is on hand to offer golf lessons and equipment repairs and practice facilities are also extensive and include; a modest driving area, putting green, chipping green and practice bunker.

Tee times for visitors to this course are reasonable and there is likely to be a time to suit all, particularly on Wednesdays which are the clubs’ open days. Green fee rates are very reasonable and reflect the nature and quality of this good golfing facility.

Thanks to its proximity to Galway, access to the club by road from much of the west of Ireland is good and  Northern Ireland is also not too far away. There are fair local accommodation options for visitors however the city of Galway itself is probably the best option for visitors.

Course was in great condition, especially considering the time of year. Super food upstairs in the bar!
