Nestled in the picturesque countryside of  County Armagh in the east of  Northern Ireland is the equally beautiful, if challenging, golf course at the Tandragee Golf Club. The location of this course if truly stunning and parts of it are overlooked by the majestic and ancient  Tandragee Castle. The village from which the club takes its name can also be found nearby and although quaint, has good general amenities for visitors.

The club recently celebrated its centenary in 2011 and hence its foundations date back to 1911. Originally this was a totally private club and course located on an exclusive estate however when the club was officially affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland in 1922 membership was opened up and the club soon attracted a strong following. Over the years the course has seen a number of works and upgrades however it has matured well and the holes flow seamlessly.

Of a parkland style, the course is made up of 18 holes which measure just over 5150 metres with a par of 71 from the white tees. Features of this course include flowing and ebbing rivers and streams which come in to play at a number of occasions here as well as a strong presence of mature, regal trees and intelligently placed bunkers. Overall this is a formidable yet enjoyable test of golf and one that is suitable for most.

Tandragee has good overall facilities for visitors, including an extensive professional shop offering a great selection of merchandise, equipment and apparel from a number of well-known brands including Titleist.  The club is also home to the welcoming Fairways Restaurant which has an extensive menu that can cater to everything from a quiet bite to eat, to weddings and christenings.

Tee times for visitors have good general availability as long as they are willing to avoid peak times such as weekends. Green fee rates are very good value for money here and there are a number of discounts and offers available for here which offer even greater for money.

As Northern Ireland is so compact the course is well connected to much of the rest of the country by road and the capital  Belfast is only around 50 minutes away by car. There are a good selection of accommodation providers in and around the local area which are sure to appeal visitors of all tastes and budgets.

good value and generally an accessible course to play on.greens are very good with some challenging par 3s.found some of the par4s long and monotonous.facilities are good as is the food.my overriding impression is that all the best courses that players wax lyrical about are flat.i felt like i had run a marathon on the 18th green as i felt like sir edmund hilary
