St Anne’s Golf Club and its prospective golf course can be found on the beautiful and unique Bull Island in Dublin, Ireland. The island is connected to the mainland by a road route and is home to the Bull Island Nature Reserve which has a host of flora and fauna and is a local beauty spot. Also found on the island is the prestigious golf course at the Royal Dublin Golf Club, which makes the island a popular destination for visiting golfers.

The club was founded back in 1921 and originally consisted of 9 holes, however in the late 1980’s the course was extended to the full 18 holes. More recently in 2003, the brand new clubhouse was opened which will allow players to enjoy this course even more.

Of a traditional links style, the 18 holes here are laid out classically and are surrounded by sand dunes. Measuring 5730 metres from the yellow tees, this is a par 71 course and that is very challenging. A number of small water hazards and tricky dog legs combined with windswept, sandy terrain create most of the challenges here and even the most experienced of players will need to ensure that they are the top of their game when playing here.

Facilities at St Anne’s are excellent and include a welcoming bar and restaurant area for players to enjoy within the clubhouse, also in the clubhouse you will find well-appointed changing facilities and lockers. There is also the resident club professional who offers coaching and tuition and the practice facilities are also extensive and include a chipping and putting green and a links land practice area.

Tee time availability for visitors to this course is somewhat restricted and is best on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays as other times are reserved for members. Green fee rates are also reasonable and reflect the high quality of both the course and facilities here and a number of discounts and special offers can also be had here. It should be noted that both tee times and green fee rates change with the seasons and prior booking is highly recommended.

Access to the club is straightforward as it is just outside of Dublin which makes it easy to access from much of the rest of Ireland as well as the nearby United Kingdom and further afield. Accommodation options in and around the local area are obviously plentiful and there will be something to suit all tastes and budgets.
