Located on the west coast of Ireland is the golf course at Spanish Point Golf Club. Found within County Clare the course and club lie just outside of the town of Milltown Malbay which is popular with local visitors as well as tourists. The views that can be had from this course are excellent and stretch over the churning Atlantic Ocean as well as the bay at Spanish Point.

The club here was first formed back in 1896 making it one of the oldest in Ireland however it wasn’t fully affiliated until 1915. It is safe to say that both the club and course here have an interesting and extensive history which visitors can find out more about during their time here.

Thanks to its location this is a classic links style course that is made up of nine holes. When played as 18 holes the course here measures 4730 metres and has a fair par of 68. Features here are as to be expected of a links course with rugged terrain and sand coming in to play extensively here. Add to this the links defining micro-environment and climate and players here are sure to be in for a tough challenge which can still be enjoyable.

Facilities at Spanish Point are fair and there is a welcoming clubhouse complete with bar for players to enjoy a drink in after their rounds. Also there are well-appointed changing rooms here at the disposal of players and practice facilities are good. Said practice facilities include two greens as well as practice bunkers and a chipping area.

Tee times for visitors to this club have good general availability if they are willing to avoid peak times. Green fee rates are also reasonable here and offer good value for money. It should be noted that both tee time availability and green fee rates change somewhat with the seasons and this should be remembered before booking.

At first glance it appears that the club is somewhat secluded however road links are relatively good to the site. There are a number of accommodation options in and around the local area which should appeal to most tastes and budgets, particularly in nearby Milltown Malbay which plays host to many tourists and visitors.

Nice course, it is quite easy because there's so much room for errors. The finishing 3 holes are great golf holes next to the lake. The course plays quite short, especially the par 5's that can all be reached in 2. All in all had a great day but can't compare to either Killeen or most of the nearby links courses.

The Great Lahinch Golf Course - 150 euro (no joke!) Castle, crowded, reasonably priced at 35 euro. Spanish Point, 20 euro: friendly, good condition, fair test - good greens, fair bunkers, excellent

The place is quite simple, but still has a few challenges on the precision. The tees in the dunes are overlooking the sea interesting, always beautiful again. If he is on the way, you can play well once the place. However, worth is not an extra check. The day ticket €25 one not exploited though, is probably tolerable. The personal reception was very nice. Rental trolleys are available.
