To the west of the capital  Dublin in some of the prime Irish countryside is the Slade Valley Golf Club and its associated golf course.  Nestled near to the border between the counties of Dublin and Kildare the setting of this course is stunning with the lush, rolling countryside spread out for all to see and enjoy from numerous vantage points of the course. Lying between the quaint villages of Saggart and Brittas, visitors here are sure to find this an enjoyable and friendly location with good amenities.

Founded in 1970, the course here may have a somewhat short history but it remains interesting and rich. The course was designed by the well-known Jeff Howes who has worked extensively on courses throughout  Ireland as well as further afield in locations such as  Bern in  Switzerland

Made up of 18 holes and measuring 5672 metres from the white tees, the course here has a par of 70. This is a classic parkland design and features of the course include gently contoured terrain, mature trees and a number of additional hazards. The course boasts the highest green above sea level in the entirety of Ireland which can be seen on the 11th hole and is both challenging yet enjoyable. Overall, this is an interesting course which is suited to players of varying strengths and skills.

With regards to facilities, the club is well-appointed to meet the needs of most modern golfers. There is a modern clubhouse boasting excellent locker and changing facilities as well as bar and restaurant for all to enjoy. Furthermore there is a well-stocked pro shop offering a selection of equipment and apparel and the clubs’ resident professional is on hand to offer coaching and tuition by prior arrangement for those wanting to improve their game,

Green fee rates for visitors here are very reasonable making this a good value for money facility. Tee times for visitors have fair availability and there is sure to be a time to suit all if willing to avoid the peak times that are reserved for members only.

Due to the fact that the city centre of Dublin is less than 40 minutes away access to the club from much of Ireland as well as  Northern Ireland and further afield is good. Accommodation options are also good and there is a great selection of providers to suit all.
