Situated near to the East coast of Ireland is the golf course at the luxurious Seafield Golf and Spa Hotel. Lying in County Wexford, the course here is very unique and the views that can be had from here are breath-taking. From many of the holes here some excellent panoramas over the nearby Irish Sea can be had and the resort as whole has plenty to offer to visitors making this an ideal getaway retreat for both golfers and non-golfers alike.

The course here was opened in 2002 and was designed by the internationally famous Peter McEvoy. McEvoy has worked on a number of projects across Europe with some of his most notable being those in Ireland and Spain. Already in its short life the course here has seen many famous names upon it including Irish Open winner Padraig Harrington and Justin Rose.

Measuring almost exactly 6000 metres and with a par of 70, this 18 hole course is very unique in its style.  Woodland, heathland and seaside combine together to create an interesting mix of holes and features are extensive. Said features include fairways of varying lengths as well as a good presence of water hazards and a number of punishing bunkers. The course is a challenging one and even the most experienced of players are likely to be tested here and will do well to match the par.

Facilities at Seafield are extensive and the course has its own clubhouse which is home to a welcoming bar and restaurant for both players and non-players alike to enjoy. Away from golf there is an extensive and luxurious spa here which is ideal for those who may not be the biggest of golfers.

Tee time availability for visitors to this course have fair availability however booking them can be somewhat time consuming as the common method is to contact the club requesting a specific time. Green fee rates here reflect the nature of the course and facilities and are subject to change throughout the course of the season, as is tee time availability.

Access to the resort is generally good from much of the rest of Ireland and the capital Dublin is around 90 km to the North of the site. The obvious accommodation option here is the associated hotel which has a number of room options which are all of the highest standard and should definitely appeal to all.

I have played here quite a few times. Some quirky holes but overall i dont think you will be dissapointed. Its best played off the blues where there is more of a challenge to many holes. The first and the 17th would be two examples of this. Nice bit of variety with some long and some short par fours. Long par 3 at 16 when you are getting tired can be challenging. Usually in very good condition. Although it is a seaside course there are only two holes along the sea (cliff). Nice clubhouse with good views of the course. So, by all means play it, you will enjoy but if you are serious ask to play off the back sticks.
