The Royal Portrush Golf Club lays claim to two links golf courses in the seaside town of Portrush in County Antrim, Northern Ireland and is one of the oldest golf courses in Ireland, dating back to 1888.

The course was designed by Harry S. Colt, a Cambridge graduate who, with his design team, designed or redesigned over 300 golf courses in his life time all over the world.

The courses are overlooked by the ruins of Dunluce castle (thus its name), facing onto the North Antrim Causeway Coast of Northern Ireland.

The club boasts two courses, the Dunluce Championship course and the slightly shorter but ever as interesting Valley course. The Dunluce course is 6532m in length, and the Valley course is only slightly shorter at 5764m long, with both courses hosting 18 holes and a 72 par.

Regarding green fees, the Dunluce is much more costly than the Valley course, however it is generally stated that both are impressive courses in their own right.

The weather in Portrush is typical of Northern Ireland, with rain expected around 13 days each month, however this does not normally affect gameplay, as proven by the regular tournaments held for members. The club is renowned for it's high standards with regards to the maintenance of the greens.

The club’s dining room is open during high season (April – September), but tea, coffee and sandwiches are available all year round in the Dunluce Room. There is also a pro shop on site, which offers golf tuition as well as hiring out clubs, trolleys and caddy cars.

There are plenty of hotels very close to the golf course, which can be found along with customer reviews and ratings on the left hand side of this page. Click here to view our packages available at this course.
