Found in the extreme South East of Ireland near to the coast in county Wexford is the Burrow golf course at Rosslare Golf Club. Thanks to its location on one of the sunniest points in Ireland the Burrow along with its older companion, the aptly named Old course are some of the driest in the country. The county town of Wexford itself is just a short drive away and has many attractions and places of interest for visitors to enjoy.

Rosslare Golf Club was founded in 1905 and the Old Course was the original one however, so as to ease the demand on said course the Burrow was opened in 2005. It was designed by the popular Irish favourite Christy O’Connor Jnr and is the perfect complement to the older course here.

Comprising of 12 holes this is of a links style and has a par of 46, it measures some 3620 metres from the white tees. Although this isn’t the main course at Rosslare it still has significant appeal and has a whole host of features to keep players entertained. Features include rolling fairways, rugged terrain, low dunes and of course sand banks. Add to that the links defining natural elements such as the wind and players here are in for an enjoyable challenge.

The facilities here are excellent and include a bar and restaurant serving a wide array of refreshments for players to enjoy. A professional golf shop will ensure all players purchasing and hire requirements are met and the practice facilities here are second to none and include a driving terrain, chipping green and putting green which players can use.

Tee times for the Burrow course have good overall availability and the green fee rates here are very reasonable. Both prices and availability change with the seasons however. The club is also proud to host a great number of open competitions across the duration of the year which can be enjoyed by both members and visitors alike.

Road links to the club and courses are very good and visitors here should have no problem in accessing the area from the rest of Ireland. There is also a popular ferry terminal a short drive away from the club which has a number of daily crossings to both Wales and France. With regards to accommodation, there are a number of options in the local area which should suit the needs, tastes and budgets of most players.

This course is an absolute gem. Played in June and the course was typically hard and fast running. Some good fun holes mixed with some strong par 4s. Great value. As good a course as many more acclaimed courses. (6 handicap golfer who has played 70+ links courses in GB&I)

The beautiful old course is situated directly on the coast. Everything is natural and original. Wind, however, it may be not sensitive, since the fore calls are often heard. Greenfee is €35 OK DS clubhaus is appropriate. Unfortunately, a great celebration was so we had only a short drink. If one is nearby - play,.
