Found in the small village of Templenoe is the scenic golf course at the Ring of Kerry Golf Club. In County Kerry to the South West of Ireland is where you will find this beautiful golf course which offers breath-taking views over the nearby Kenmare Bay. The course itself can be found perched at the perfect height to both provide excellent views as well as a great canvas on which to play golf.
This is a relatively new course by Irish standards and especially those of County Kerry. It was finally opened in 1998 after a lot of turmoil and obstacles however the end result and its quality both speak for themselves. The course was designed by the legendary, Irish favourite Eddie Hackett who sadly passed away during the construction of the course. However the course is a fitting tribute to one of the best golf course architects of a generation.
Its 18 holes are of a parkland style and measure 5354 metres from the yellow tees, it offers a par of 73. This is a classic example of a traditional course and features numerous elements that offer a great challenge to many. Expect a number of elevation changes combined with a good prominence of water throughout the course to create a number of tricky holes. Undulations here are not as severe as they used to be as in recent years they have been modified after they were criticised as being too unfair. However this remains a challenging course with many features to test even the most experienced and accomplished of players.
Facilities at the Ring of Kerry club are fair and include a well-stocked professional golf shop in which players can find all manner of things they may need for the sport. Golf tuition and coaching is also available here and is provided by PGA professionals.
Tee times for visitors to the course are good and tend to run from late morning until early afternoon although they obviously change somewhat throughout the seasons. Green fee rates here offer good value for money when you consider the quality and prestige of the course as well as the beautiful location. A number of discounts and deals are also available for players visiting the course which offer even better value for money.
Travelling to the course is relatively straightforward although it is a little out of the way. The nearest international airport and ferry port are those in Cork which can provide transport links to the rest of the globe. There are a number of accommodation options near to the club which have well established links and there are even a number of play and stay packages available here also. These packages can include the option to stay in either a hotel or holiday home which makes them a popular choice.

Average rating obtained byThis rating for Ring Of Kerry Golf & Country Club. is the average of 2 ratings obtained from www.golfshake.comA fantastic golfing experience in a superb location with majestic scenery. This is Kerry at its best and we got a beautiful day. The value is superb andbthestaff are very friendly and helpful. The only surprise and I suppose in a way disappointment (although it was nice to move quickly) was that there were few others on the course on the Thursday on which we played. I am looking forward to my next game there and if I lived nearby I would join on this fantastic 2013 membership offer.
Average rating obtained byThis rating for Ring Of Kerry Golf & Country Club. is the average of 6 ratings obtained from www.1golf.euActually, everything is said by the previous rapporteur. An incredible view of Ireland, a delightful walk ups and down in nature. -At least within the week - hardly what this plant was going on. Impressive: a square connoisseur iterating over us - if you know where you going, just not so much look. Lost in the rest of the golf week together not as many balls as on that day. Sometimes simply 'away' or strong height differences simply via the railway, beaten (flat land and that'm so not used to). The Mercurial Greens those as a local - in the meantime even been defused. I wonder how you were before. There, one can come with in the Schweifeln ever... From the well-heeled, washed-out bunkers it is recommended to set to protect the material partially better. Set the vulnerability there on the square. Well maintained, they were partly extremely ambitious. Schade.Wir had no problems in the process before booking at all, everything perfect and the final beer with delicious sandwiches tasted after the effort twice on the view terrace.
