Rathsallagh Golf Course is found in the East of Ireland in County Wicklow just outside of the small village of Dunlavin. The capital, Dublin is around an hour away by car meaning that although this beautiful parkland style course is a serene and peaceful location at which to play golf it is still in a perfect location to access the larger, bustling population hubs of the country.
Set in a large estate that is also home to exquisite Rathsallagh Country House, the golf course here was opened for play in 1994. The dynamic partnership of Peter McEvoy and Christy O’Connor Jnr were commissioned to create this course which has been continuously ranked as one of Ireland’s finest by a number of sources.
This 18-hole course has a par of 72 and measures 6324 metres. Expect a demanding and tough course set through gently undulating terrain, water is used cleverly on a number of holes also. Bunkers have been strategically placed to provide players with great challenges yet all surfaces are of the USPGA high standard. The layout here flows effortlessly and every hole is a perfect continuation from the last. Yes it is a tough course, but there is no doubt that it is a beautifully designed one that is a joy to play on.
Facilities at Rathsallagh are good and provide players with everything that they could need. There is a club house which overlooks a number of holes offering a great array of refreshments for players to enjoy after their rounds. There is also a well-appointed Pro Golf Shop equipped with the necessities that players may need during their time here. Club, shoe and buggy hire are also available here although it is by prior request and booking of these things is essential.
Tee times for this course for visiting players have good general availability which changes somewhat throughout the year. Green fee rates here are very reasonable considering the high quality of the course and its facilities. Also there are a number of offers and discounts available throughout the year for this course which offer even better value for money.
Getting to Rathsallagh is relatively easy due to its proximity to Dublin, visitors from the rest of Ireland are blessed with good rail and road connections. For overseas visitors the nearest airport is that of Dublin which is less than an hour away by car. With regards to accommodation the Rathsallagh complex also contains a luxury hotel which has a number of room options for visiting players.

Average rating obtained byThis rating for Rathsallagh Golf Club. is the average of 6 ratings obtained from www.top100golfcourses.co.ukRathsallagh is one of Irelands greatest inland courses and its set beautifully in delightful parkland. It certainly ticks all my boxes in terms of what I expect from a course. Its beautifully conditioned with USGA greens and tees, its a man or woman-sized test and, as you would expect, youll get a friendly Irish welcome. If you take advantage of the early bird specials, you can play here for as little as 30 and that is brilliant value in my book.
Average rating obtained byThis rating for Rathsallagh Golf Club. is the average of 1 ratings obtained from www.1golf.euVariety and challenge, this place is even Mount Juliet in the shade. We have played both courses in October 2013. The much better infrastructure of Mount Juliet is loosely offset by the space more interesting and very well maintained. Yes not by appearance deter the clubhouse allow - it is worth to play this place!
