Nestled on the shores of  Cork harbour in the south of  Ireland within county Cork is the golf course at the Raffeen Creek Golf Club. Offering amazing views across the harbour, the course is well located for those who want a beautiful golfing location with all the amenities that modern golfers need. The bustling city centre of Cork itself is around 20 minutes to the north of the site by car and boasts a great number of attractions and places of interest for visitors of all ages.

This is a relatively modern club by Irish standards and was founded in the late 1980’s. The course was designed by the late, great Eddie Hackett whose work can be seen extensively throughout Ireland in locations from  Dublin to  Galway and  Donegal to Kerry.

Measuring 2471 metres from the white tees, the course here has a par of 70 and is made up of 9 holes. Natural features are used well here and a beautiful lake comes in to play on some of the holes here. This is a very scenic course which is a stern yet enjoyable test for golfers of all ages and abilities.

With regards to facilities, the golf club is part of the larger Raffeen Creek Sports Club and therefore there are extensive and well-appointed ladies and gents changing facilities. Also there are a number of lounge areas and meeting rooms that can be hired for a number of functions here.

Green fee rates here are very reasonable and offer good value for money. There are a number of attractive discounts for seniors and students here also. Tee times for visitors have fair availability and there should be a time to suit all if arranged in advance.

Thanks to its proximity to the popular transport hub of Cork there are good links to the area from most of the rest of Ireland. Furthermore there are a number of regular ferry services from the nearby Cork harbour to a number of locations in  France. Accommodation options in and around the local area are good and there should be something to suit the tastes and budgets of most.
