Newlands Golf Club and its associated golf course can be found in the east of  Ireland near to the bustling city centre of  Dublin, within the historic County Dublin. Found near to the town of  Clondalkin just 12 km to the west of the bustling capital city, the club is well located to receive visitors from both near and far and there are a number of appealing golfing facilities in and around the area for all. Said facilities include those at the  Grange Castle and  Beech Park golf clubs.

Founded in 1910, the club was originally known as Robinhood Golf Club until it moved to its current site at Newlands in 1925 which instigated its name change. The club originally played on a course of nine holes however it was extended to 18 holes in the same year that the club moved. Over the years a number of designers have worked on the course here including the infamous James Braid and the talented Jeff Howes.

Made up of 18 holes, the course is of a parkland style and measures 5897 metres from the back tees with a par of 71. Features here are very traditional and the course has matured well over its lifetime to create an enjoyable but, at times, tough challenge. Players should expect mature trees, well contoured greens and a good selection of hazards which combine to create most of the challenge here.

Facilities at the club are generally good and there is both a bar and restaurant area for players to enjoy, in which they are sure to receive a warm Irish welcome. There is also a well-stocked professional golf shop staffed by the resident professional offering a number of items for purchase and hire as well as offering tuition and lessons to golfers of all skill levels by prior arrangement.

Green fee rates for visitors here are fair and they reflect the quality of both the course and the facilities as well the location. Tee time availability is quite restricted for visitors however there should be a reasonable time for most. The club also hosts a number of open competitions throughout the year that are probably the best option for visitors to experience and enjoy the course.

Getting to the club from much of the rest of Ireland as well as nearby  Northern Ireland and the rest of the  United Kingdom is relatively straightforward thanks to the clubs proximity to Dublin city centre. With regards to accommodation, the club has a number of well-established links with local providers which are sure to appeal to the majority.
