Newbridge Golf Club and its golf course can be found towards the East of Ireland in County Kildare. Both can be found just over 40 km outside of the capital Dublin and the local area is home to a number of great courses. Dunmurry Springs and The Curragh are just two of the clubs that can be found in the local area making this a great area for golfers wanting to sample more than just one of the excellent courses that this region, and the country as a whole has to offer. Its proximity to Dublin further facilitates this also.

The course here was opened in 1995 and is therefore quite modern by Irish standards. It was not until 1997 however that the club became fully affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland. Since its opening the membership here has grown well and now the club is proud to boast over 400 members.

Comprising of 18 holes, the course here is of a classic parkland style. Measuring 5680 metres from the blue tees it has a par of 73. Features here are very natural and more than 40,000 trees provide a significant challenge. Water also comes in to play on a great number of the holes here and there is an abundance of wildlife to be seen throughout the course including herons and kingfishers. Overall, this is a challenging yet enjoyable course and one which can be enjoyed by golfers of varying skill levels.

Facilities at this club are good and the club regularly invests in them to try and further add to its appeal. Said facilities involve a spacious and welcoming bar and restaurant within the clubhouse which players can enjoy after their rounds. There are also a number of hire items available here such as trolleys and buggies which will help to facilitate play.

Although the member presence is strong here visitors here are warmly welcomed and the overall tee time availability is good, except at weekends when it is somewhat restricted. Green fee rates here are very reasonable and players are sure to find this a good value for money course. Both tee time availability and green fee rates are subject to change across the course of the year and this should be noted by all so as to avoid disappointment.

The club is well connected to much of the rest of Ireland by road thanks to its proximity to Dublin and further transport links to the nearby United Kingdom and further afield are strong. Accommodation options in and around the local area are fair and there is sure to be something to appeal to most tastes and budgets.

Good shape overall..Greens just not quite as smooth as last year but weather probably a big factor in that..Enjoyable course though, lots of options..(Round played: Jul 2016 - Score: 78 Handicap: 5.6)

This is nice course with water in play in about 7 holes. Not an over and above though course with a lot of birdie chances to be made. But walking through a drain is not very nice to the next tee box.Wou
