Mount Ober Golf Club is a lovely little course nestled in the heart of Northern Ireland, on the very outskirts of South Belfast and is one of the top golf courses in the country. It offers its players spectacular views of the surrounding area, particularly if you were to look from the 3rd hole and the 12th green. The club is very conveniently situated, as it is only a 15 minute drive from the city centre, making it ideal for golfers who might want to go shopping and sight-seeing in the bustling capital city during their holiday. For example, there is the´ Titanic Experience´, the only experience of its kind and something definitely worth going to see! Not only that, but it is only a 20 minute drive from Belfast City Airport, making it a great destination for travelling golfers.
The course was designed by an architect by the name of Hugh Jackson, and is an 18 hole, par 67 course. It is suitable for players with all levels of experience – it is a pleasure to play on this course whether you are a novice or an expert. As it is situated high up in the hills, there is often an Irish breeze coming in to play, and this, along with the undulating terrain, will make playing this course just that little bit more challenging!
Mount Ober Golf Club boasts an impressive range of facilities for its guests, including:
- A clubhouse with a restaurant and licensed bar
- A games room with Amerian Billiard and snooker table
- A short game practise area
- A driving range
The driving range consists of 24 individual floodlit bays with 120 metres of grass tee areas. It is the full length for driving practise, and for your enjoyment there are target flags set along it. Next to this is the short game area, complete with floodlighting, which allows users to practise their pitching, bunker shots and putting all the year around!
Mount Ober Golf Club offers lessons from their resident PGA professional, Wesley Ramsay. He was a professional golfer for 18 years, and now leads their teaching team. Their lessons are ideal for golfers of any age or with any level experience, and are offered at very reasonable rates.
Their restaurant, No 19 Restaurant and Grill is a family run establishment which serves food every day of the week, including Sunday Lunch, and a Monday night ´Steak Night´.

At £10 for 18 holes on a Friday it makes the game easy on the pocket. Plenty of challenging holes that test your fitness as much as your golf. (Round played: Jan 2014 - Score: 109 Handicap: )
Average rating obtained byThis rating for Mount Ober Golf Club. is the average of 3 ratings obtained from www.ukgolfguide.com20 quid for bucket of balls, round of golf and low calorie fry afterwards! good value.thought the first green was a disgrace and they gradually got a bit better.I think the 14th blind par 3 is a silly hole and too long for a par 3.if you take out a big club and go over the back you are penalised too.post in the middle of the fairway is not in line with the hole.not a tough course.run offs on some greens are punitive.this is the fourth time i have played here.a few changes but overall it has not improved in the last five years.
Average rating obtained byThis rating for Mount Ober Golf Club. is the average of 1 ratings obtained from www.worldgolf.comAlthough I didn't give it the best ratings for design and condition its easy to see that the course will improve later in the year. Some nice holes and views, not a lot of run in the fairways and ver
Average rating obtained byThis rating for Mount Ober Golf Club. is the average of 1 ratings obtained from www.todaysgolfer.co.ukHaving regulary played Mount Ober before joining another club i feel quite loyal to this course. Mainly because of the people who are friendly and very welcoming. The green fees are great value, (especially the winter warmer offer) and the clubhouse has a nice friendly vibe to it and always seems quite busy. I think the socials ide of this club must be quite strong. The course however is dissapointing. The layout is fine but the condition leaves a lot to be desired. Firstly its wet, second the greens are not close to what the could be, the ball does not roll out and they just dont appear to be cut often enough, (even in the summer months). The bunkers dont seem to get raked often enough so the sand is compacted and often flooded. I think there is a big membership which does not surprise me..If i was one of them i would form a working committee to sort out the conditioning of the course. Oh the old guy at the range is unfriendly to everyone so dont be offended....
