Located in the East of Ireland within the county of Wicklow is the golf course at Macreddin Golf Club. The course here is part of the Brook Lodge and Macreddin Village which includes a revolutionary, environmentally conscious hotel as well as a Spa and installations for a whole host of other activities. At only an hour away from the capital Dublin, this is a great destination for those wanting a short golfing break and there is plenty here to keep everyone entertained.

The course here was designed by Ryder Cup player Paul McGinley with the help of Roger Jones and it is somewhat of a centrepiece of the village layout. It was first opened for play in 2007 and is therefore relatively young however that should not detract from the quality of the course and since its inauguration the course has received great critical acclaim.

Comprising of 18 holes, this course has a par of 72 and measures some 5460 metres off the yellow tees. Expect plenty of mature woodland and trees, cut through with meandering streams and brooks all laid upon gently undulating terrain. Overall this is an enjoyable course for many and should provide players with just the right amount of a challenge.

As the course is part of a much larger resort the facilities here are extensive and include a number of bars and restaurants providing some excellent dishes which are all made predominantly from organic and wild foods.

Tee times for visitors to this course have good overall availability and players should have no problem in finding a suitable time. Weekend availability is somewhat more restricted however it is still fair. Green fee rates for this course are very reasonable and reflect the high standard and nature of the course.

Getting to the complex is relatively straightforward and it is well connected to much of the rest of Ireland by road. Dublin is also only 70 km to the North of the site and onward transport links from there are plentiful to much of the rest of the world. With regards to accommodation, the obvious option is the affiliated hotel which has a number of luxurious and modern room options for all to enjoy.
