Situated in the east of Ireland within County Dublin is the golf course at the Leopardstown Golf Club. Lying just over 13km to the south of the centre of the capital city, the course here can easily be reached by visitors from near and far which adds to its appeal. The local area is dotted with a number of fellow golf courses such as those and the Foxrock and Killiney Golf Clubs meaning that Leopardstown is in good company.

The club here has a rich and interesting history and has been in existence since the 1960’s when it was created under the watchful eye of John Jacobs who is often cited as one of the founding fathers of modern Irish golf. Since then the club has become one of Ireland’s premier practice and tuition centres and welcomes thousands of players every year.

Of a parkland style the course here is surrounded by practice facilities however it is still a fantastic stand-alone installation. This par 67 course measures some 4524 metres and has a host of features to entertain and test golfers of varying skill levels. As mentioned previously this is a great practice centre making it an ideal course for those who are new to the sport but equally as appealing to those with more experience who wish to hone their skills.

Facilities here are very good and there is a sizeable bar and restaurant area which players can enjoy after their rounds. There is also a very well-stocked professional golf shop offering a variety of merchandise, equipment and apparel from a number of international brands. Practice facilities here are excellent and involve a 74 bay floodlit driving range and high standard short game facility, there are also a number of PGA professionals on hand to offer guidance, tuition and coaching.

Green fee rates for visitors to this course are very reasonable and this is a great value for money option for those who wish to refine their game. Tee time availability is also very good for this course and visitors should have no problem in finding a suitable time if they are willing to avoid peak times such as weekends.

Thanks to the proximity to the capital, access to the club from much of the rest of Ireland as well as nearby Northern Ireland is good. With regards to accommodation, there are plenty of providers in and around the local area which will appeal to most tastes and budgets.
