Located just 20 minutes outside of the capital Belfast in the east of Northern Ireland is the golf course at the Knock Golf Club. Found in the popular suburb of Dundonald the amenities in the local area are very good and the busy capital of Belfast has plenty to offer for visitors of all ages. The city is one of the most visited in the United Kingdom and is perhaps best known as the home of the shipyard where the fated Titanic was constructed back in the early 20th century.

The golf club was founded originally in 1895 making it one of the oldest in the Belfast area, its history is therefore very rich and interesting. Set in a vast estate, the course here has seen a number of designers work on it over the years including the revered Alister MacKenzie and the legendary Harry Colt. It has matured well over the years and is now a popular choice with visitors and members from both near and far.

Of the popular parkland style the course is made up of 18 equally fantastic holes. Measuring just short of 5880 metres from the white tees with a par of 70, the course is a real test of golf for even the most prolific of players. Expect traditional features combined with lush fairways and well-manicured greens to create this highly enjoyable yet challenging course that will demand a high level of accuracy from all in order to do well here.

Facilities at the club are extensive and there is everything here that a modern golfer should need for an enjoyable experience. There is both a bar and restaurant area as well as well-appointed changing and shower facilities within the clubhouse. Furthermore there are a number of items for hire that should help to facilitate play and the clubs’ resident PGA professional will be on hand to offer help and advice to players regarding all aspects of their play.

Visitors are warmly welcomed at Knock and tee time availability is generally fair for all, particularly if arranged in advance. Green fee rates are reasonable and reflect the quality of both the course and facilities as well as its blessed location near to the capital. The club is also proud to host a number of open competitions and tournaments throughout the year for both members and visitors to enjoy.

Thanks to its proximity with the capital, transport links to much of the rest of the country are good and getting to nearby Ireland is also relatively straightforward. There are also a number of regular ferry crossings from Belfast to a selection of destinations within the rest of the United Kingdom including Birkenhead near Liverpool, England and Douglas on the Isle of Man.  Accommodation options in and around the local area are extensive and there will be something to suit all.
