Knightsbrook Trim Golf Resort and its associated golf course can be found in County Meath in the East of Ireland. The nearby town of Trim is situated on the River Boyne and has a rich and extensive history which can be discovered by visitors; just some of its places of interest include Trim Castle as well as a number of beautiful and imposing churches. The capital Dublin is also relatively close by at less than 40 minutes away by car meaning that Knightsbrook is in a blessed location in terms of ease of access.

Opened in 2006,the course here was designed by Irish favourite Christy O’Connor Jnr who after a long and illustrious career as a professional player has now turned his hand to design which he again excels at. This championship, parkland course is a fine example of his work and its creativity and excellent location combine to create an unparalleled course that can be enjoyed by many.

Its 18 holes stretch over a distance of nearly 6600 metres and have a par of 72. Features here include extensive, undulating fairways as well as challenging, USGA standard greens to test a host of players. Water hazards feature extensively throughout the course and a number of man-made ponds can coax players into some challenging play. The use of bunkers throughout the course complements other features perfectly to create a great balance between enjoyment and challenge.

Facilities at Knightsbrook are good and include a restaurant and fully stocked bar for players to enjoy. There is also a well-appointed golf shop with knowledgeable staff on hand to offer assistance and advice on those all-important purchases. There are also a number of lounges for players to relax in and spacious locker rooms at their disposal during their visit.

Green fee rates at Knightsbrook offer good value for money and the club offers a large number of discounts to visitors here which offer even better value for money. Tee times for visitors to the course are also good and are spread throughout the day however weekend availability is rather limited as this time is usually reserved for members.

Transport connections to the area are generally good and there are a number of principal roads close to the site connecting it to other parts of Ireland. The nearest international airport is that of Dublin which is around 50km away and has numerous flights to the nearby United Kingdom as well as the rest of Europe and further afield. The most obvious accommodation option is the attached hotel which has a number of options for visitors, however if visitors are looking for something different there are also a number of independent hotels in and around the local area which should appeal to all tastes and budgets.

A lovely course and a good long walk. The fairways are quite wide and forgiving. Greens were soft with a lot of plug marks. (Round played: May 2016 - Score: 107 Handicap: 23)

Interesting place with beautiful fairways. The course was in good condition and at least when we played him on a weekday - relatively empty. The green fee is a bit high.
