Situated on the peninsula of the same name, the golf course at the Howth Golf Club can be found in the far east of Ireland in one of the suburbs of Dublin. The unique location of this course only enhances the quality of play that can be had here and this small peninsula is home to a number of excellent courses making this a great destination for a golfing getaway. Just some of the other courses located nearby include those at the Sutton and Deer Park Resort Golf Clubs.

The club here was founded in 1916 and is soon to celebrate its centenary. The original course was designed and laid out by the infamous James Braid who has worked on many courses across the British Isles most notably perhaps some of those at the famous Gleneagles Golf Club in Scotland

Of a distinct heathland links style, this 18 hole course measures some 5440 metres from the yellow tees and has a par of 71. Expect plenty of tricky dog legs here as well as some excellent, unique holes. The views here combine with the features to create a generally enjoyable, distinctive and challenging course which can be enjoyed by players of most skill levels.

Facilities at this club are good and include a bar and restaurant that players can enjoy after their rounds. There are also ladies and gent’s locker rooms as well as changing facilities for visitors. You will also find a professional golf shop on site stocking a variety of apparel and equipment as well as hire items such as buggies and clubs. Practice facilities here are also fair and include a putting and chipping green as well as a practice area upon which players can hone their skills.

Tee time availability for visitors here is generally good and there is likely to be a time to suit all if booked far enough in advance. Weekend availability however is somewhat more restricted. Green fee rates are reasonable and reflect the quality of both the course and facilities. A number of discounts and offers are available to play here throughout the course of the year too and visitors are sure to find some good deals.

As the club is close to the capital, transport links both too and from the area are good with regards to the rest of Ireland as well as the nearby United Kingdom as well as further afield. Accommodation options in the local area and particularly the centre of Dublin itself are plentiful and there will definitely be something to suit all tastes and budgets.
