Just outside of the bustling city centre of Dublin is the Hollystown Golf Club and its golf course. Found in one of the many suburbs of the city, Blanchardstown is the nearest town and is around 5 minutes away by car. Dublin International Airport is also nearby meaning that visitors from across the globe will have no problem in visiting this popular and well-appointed golfing installation.

The club was originally founded in 1992 making it somewhat modern by Irish standards but it wasn’t until 2000 that the club was affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland. The course here is the combined design efforts of two very different but both very gifted designers. The legendary Eddie Hackett worked on the course originally with the lesser known Joe Bedford upgrading and updating the course some years later.

This is a 27 hole golf complex comprising of three loops of nine which are known simply as the red, blue and yellow. All loops are of a parkland style and it is the choice of players which combination of loops that they play. A popular combination is that of the yellow and red loops which measure 5356 metres from the white tees and have a par of 70. Features are very traditional and well maintained and all that play here are sure to enjoy a fair challenge.

Facilities here are very good and visitors should find everything that they need and more.  There is a large and well-appointed bar and restaurant here for players to enjoy. There are also extensive locker and changing facilities as well as a number of private function rooms. Practice facilities here are excellent and include an extensive practice area, two covered driving bays, two practice putting greens and a short game area complete with bunkers and full size green.

Tee time availability for visitors to this course is generally fair and the size of the course means that there is a good selection of slots for all. Visitors are also warmly welcomed to the numerous open competitions that the club hosts throughout the year which can be enjoyed by all. Green fee rates are very reasonable here and reflect the nature of the course and the facilities available as well as its location near to the capital.

Access to the club from much of the rest of Ireland as well as Northern Ireland is good by road and the nearby airport operates many flights to a number of international destinations including Spain, Greece and the United Arab Emirates. There are a number of accommodation options in and around the local area which will appeal to all and the city centre has a great number of options.
