Found in the far south of County Dublin in the east of Ireland near to the border that the county shares with Wicklow is the golf course at the Glencullen Golf Club. Lying around 20 km to the south of the city centre of the capital the local area is littered with a number of excellent golf courses which attract visitors from both near and far. As well as Glencullen, other popular courses include those at Ballinascorney and Stackstown Golf Clubs.

Glencullen is a relatively new addition to the local golfing circle by Irish standards as it was only formed in 1997. However its young age should not detract from its appeal and merits and this course has plenty to offer to visitors of varying strengths. Its location in the heart of the Dublin Mountain area is not only tranquil but picturesque and all visitors are sure to enjoy the views that can be had from here.  The course here was designed by the well-known Des Smyth.

Comprising of 9 holes the course here is of a traditional parkland style and its features are typical. It measures some 2590 metres and has a par of 35. Features of this course are very traditional and there is a good presence of mature trees and woodland which provide the majority of hazards here. This is an enjoyable course with some fantastic views and players of most skill sets are sure to find this a pleasure to play on.

With regards to facilities, Glencullen is well equipped to meet the needs of most modern golfers. There are onsite changing facilities complete with showers, and towels are available to hire. Furthermore there is a restaurant area in the clubhouse offering an array of refreshments for players to enjoy. A number of items are also available for hire and away from the golfing aspect there are onsite stables offering riding lessons.

Green fee rates for this course offer excellent value for money and can be enjoyed by visitors no matter their budget. Tee time availability is also good here and visitors should have no problem in finding a suitable time to play here.

Thanks to the proximity with the capital getting here from much of the rest of Ireland as well as nearby Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom is relatively straightforward. Accommodation options are plentiful locally however the city centre of Dublin is the best option for those looking for more to see and do.
