Within the famous county of Cork in the south of Ireland is the Frankfield Golf Club and its golf course. Found south of the bustling city centre of Cork itself the local area is home to a number of other golf courses including the one at the Douglas Golf Club. Lough Mahon can be found nearby as well as a number of rivers and there are multiple ferry services from Cork to locations across Europe, most notably to Roscoff in France.

The club was established in 1984 by locals in the area who were looking for an accessible golfing facility. Since both the course and club have grown in popularity and it now boasts a fair number of members and is somewhat popular in the local area. The course was designed by a little known Edward McSweeney.

This is a nine hole course of a parkland style. It measures just short of 2220 metres from the yellow tees and has a par of 34. This is a traditional yet pleasant course which can be played by golfers of all levels and all are sure to enjoy a relaxing round or two here.

Facilities here are fair and there is a clubhouse which should provide players with most things that they should need. Staff will be more than willing to give recommendations to other amenities in the local area if players are looking for something more substantial after their rounds.

Tee time availability for visitors is generally good and there should be a time to suit all if booked in advance. Green fee rates are reasonable and offer good value for money also.

Thanks to its proximity to Cork the club is easy to access from much of the south of Ireland. Cork airport is also nearby and operates flights to and from a number of international destinations such as Spain and Poland to name but a few. Cork has plenty of accommodation options for visitors which should suit most tastes and budgets.
