Found in the area of Foxrock in the east of Ireland near to the capital Dublin is the aptly named Foxrock Golf Club and its associated golf course. The local area is peppered with a number of fellow golf courses meaning that Foxrock is in good company. Killiney and Leopardstown are just a few of the fellow golfing facilities that can be found nearby. Amenities locally are good and the heart of the city is just over 12 km to the north meaning that it is well connected transport-wise.

The foundations of the club date back to 1893 and its history is therefore rich and diverse, a fact that is apparent to all that visit here. The original course was laid out by a Mr Brown in 1893 however in 1914, around the time of the onset of the First World War, the course was re-laid by the legendary Harry S. Colt. Colt is famed worldwide for his extensive work on courses in countries including England and Wales and even as far afield as Vietnam!

This parkland style course measures 5667 metres from the medal tees and has a par of 70. Made up of nine holes the course still exudes the Colt hallmark and features here are mature although a number of upgrades have, of course, taken place to bring this course into the 21st century. All players are sure to enjoy this course which is maintained to the highest of standards and features here will provide just the perfect amount of challenge.

Facilities here are fair and players should find most things that they need here to enjoy their rounds. The clubhouse is classic, welcoming and the perfect location to relax after a round. This is a very member orientated club meaning that visitors here are few and far between however tee time availability tends to be fair. Green fee rates are also reasonable here and reflect the nature of the course.

The club is well situated to welcome visitors from across most of Ireland and Northern Ireland is also not too far. There are also a number of ferry crossings daily from Dublin to a number of locations in the nearby United Kingdom including Douglas on the Isle of Man and Bootle, near Liverpool in England. Accommodation options for visitors here are also plentiful.
