Situated in County Cork in the south of Ireland is the golf course at the Fermoy Golf Club. It is located just outside of the town of Fermoy itself and the stunning Blackwater Valley provides the backdrop to this unique and breath-taking course.  The vibrant city of Cork is around twenty minutes away by car and the city is bursting with bars, restaurants and hotels as well as many cultural attractions which should provide visitors with an exciting diversity to their stay here.

The club was established in 1893 meaning that it is amongst the oldest in Ireland. Originally members played at the aerodrome in Fermoy however the course moved to its current site of Corrin Hill in 1972. The course as we know today was designed by ex-navy commander John Harris whose skills and talents are never ending, it would seem, as this is an excellent golf course.

The course here is made up of 18 holes and is of the less-common heathland style. Measuring 5568 metres from the white tees the course has a par of 70. The course is rolling in its nature and players will obviously find an abundance of heather and gorse here. The features here are varied and it is without doubt that this course will be an interesting challenge for all that play here, particularly those who are unfamiliar with this style of course.

Club facilities are generally good and there is a warm and welcoming bar and restaurant that players can enjoy after their rounds offering a good selection of hearty traditional dishes and refreshments. There is also a professional golf shop here stocking a variety of items as well as offering club repair services for existing members and customers.

Tee time availability for visitors to this course is fair and there should be a time to suit all although the club offers a number of open competitions throughout the year which are perhaps the best option for visitors to sample Fermoy. Green fee rates are reasonable and offer good value for money. There are a number of discounts and offers available to play here at certain times also.

Getting to the club from much of the south of Ireland and around Cork is easy and the main Cork- Dublin route allows greater access for visitors from further afield. Accommodation options in and around the local area are modest although nearby Cork is perhaps the best option for most.
