Located in the South East of Ireland is the award-winning golf course at the Faithlegg House Hotel and Golf Club. Found in county Waterford almost 12km directly east of the city of Waterford itself the course here is honoured to have won the accolade of the Best Golf Resort in Munster for the year 2014 as awarded by the Golfers Guide to Ireland which means that this already popular resort is likely to get even popular over the coming years.

The course was opened in May 1993 and was designed by the notable golf course architect Patrick “Paddy” Merrigan and his signature design style and features shine through when you play on the course here.

A par 72 course which measures just short of 5800 metres from the yellow tees, the 18 holes here are of a lovely parkland style. Features here include tricky undulating greens and terrain, clever use of water and intelligently placed bunkers. The design here effortlessly blends the stunning natural surroundings with some carefully considered man-made elements to create a beautiful but, at times, tough course.

As Faithlegg is a resort style complex the facilities here are excellent and the course boasts its own clubhouse that is home to a beautiful and welcoming lounge area where players can enjoy everything from a 3 course meal to just a drink. There is also a professional golf shop on site which is stocked with a wide array of international brands and is staffed by the resident professionals who can also offer coaching and tuition by prior arrangement.

Although the club has a number of members, visitors are also warmly welcomed here and the general tee time availability is good throughout most of the week. It is somewhat more restricted at the weekend, particularly on Sundays, however with prior booking this should not be a problem. Green fee rates here are reasonable and the price reflects the quality of the course and facilities here.

Thanks to the proximity of the resort with the city of Waterford the transport links to much of the rest of the country are good. The obvious accommodation option for visitors to this resort is the affiliated hotel which has a variety of options for visitors including rooms and suites as well as self-catered holiday homes which are scattered throughout the estate.

you can buy a golf pass for playing three courses locally. this was the first course we played. we started just after it stopped raining in the afternoon. we rented a buggy and were told that we will be surprised how nicely the course drains.back home after such a deluge we will be lucky to be allowed electric trolleys.and the course was dry as said, marvellous.course was in very good nick. you could hardly a bare patch. it was beautifully maintained course. the bak nine is bit tricky and tough and otherwise it is good and fair test of golf.very impressive introduction to irish golf.go and enjoy it.

I did really enjoy this course, poorly cut, very wet and very poorly maintained. The staff was very unfriendly and I did not feel welcome at all. Definitely not, that I would recommend
