Found in one of the suburbs of Dublin near to the east coast of Ireland is the Edmondstown Golf Club and its golf course. Within Rathfarnham, the bustling city centre is just over 10 km to the north of the site and there is plenty for visitors here to see and do. The capital is full of attractions and places of interest for visitors of all ages including the National Museum of Ireland and the Guinness Storehouse making this an ideal destination for a golfing break for all the family.

The club was founded originally in 1944 and since then has become a popular fixture on the golfing itineraries of many. The course here is a combination of the design efforts of Craig Cooke and Peter McEvoy who between them have designed a number of golf courses within Ireland but also others in countries such as Italy.

Comprising of 18 holes the course is of the ever-popular parkland style. From the white tees it measures 5841 metres for gentlemen and has a par of 71. Features here are traditional and players should expect a number of tricky dog legs combined with plenty of mature woodland and the usual water features and bunkers. The course is an enjoyable challenge for most and players of varying skill sets are sure to do well here.

With regards to facilities, the club is well-appointed to meet the needs of its members, their guests and, of course, visitors. The clubhouse is home to a welcoming bar and restaurant which players can enjoy after their rounds. Furthermore there is a sizeable professional golf shop offering an array of equipment and apparel and the resident PGA professional will be more than willing to offer help and assistance on any purchasing. Golf lessons and tuition are also provided by the professional at competitive rates however these must be arranged in advance.

Tee time availability for visitors to this course is fair with Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays having the best overall availability. Green fee rates are to be expected for a course of this standard and  location yet there a number of discounts and offers available to play here at certain times of the year. It should be noted that both tee times and green fee rates are subject to change with the season and time of the week.

Thanks to its location near to Dublin access by most forms of transport is good. Visitors from the rest of Ireland as well as Northern Ireland and the rest of the nearby United Kingdom should have no problem in getting here. Dublin has accommodation in abundance and there is guaranteed to be something to suit everyone from budget hotels to luxurious apartments.
