Located in Dungarvan, Ireland the golf course at Dungarvan Golf Club forms part of the established Dungarvan Golf Triangle which also includes West Waterford Golf Club and Gold Coast Golf Club. Found in County Waterford the course is actually around 5 km outside of the town of Dungarvan. The Comeragh Mountains offer an excellent backdrop to this course and the surroundings here are truly beautiful and provide players with stunning vistas of some of the best scenery Ireland has to offer.

The oldest of the Dungarvan 3, the club was originally founded in 1924 and comprised of just 9 holes. Over the years the course and club were relocated and moved to its current location in 1993. The course as it is known today was designed by Maurice Fives who extended the course to the full 18 holes.

This parkland style course offers a par of 72 and measures just short of 6220 metres. Water features prominently throughout the course and includes a fusion of both natural and manmade obstacles. There are no less than 7 lakes here and bunkers are scattered well across the course to further add challenge. Further strategic hazards such as mature trees add some extra challenge to create an interesting and exciting location to play golf.

Facilities here are to be expected and are of a fair standard. With regards to tee times and green fees here they are a little different to most due to the clubs part in the Dungarvan Triangle. Most players can combine play at all three course at a reduced rate which is great for those wanting the full golfing experience that the town of Dungarvan has to offer. In terms of tee times for just this club availability is fair and spread throughout the day however weekend tee times have a very restricted availability. Green fees for just this course are very reasonable and there are a number of discounts available throughout the year which can offer even greater value for money.

Due to its location the course is relatively easy to access from most of the south of Ireland and nearby Waterford has some good links with other larger towns and cities. Due to the popularity of the Dungarvan Triangle there are a number of hotels and other accommodation options in the local area which are perfect for visiting golfers to enjoy.

This is an enjoyable course although they have taken out a number of mounds on the 10th fairway, making it a lot easier - don't know why. Club is friendly and has got a lovely atmosphere (Round played: Sep 2014 - Score: 112 Handicap: 36)

Arrived for a 8am tee on the 1st May, 09 and itwas absolutelypouring down with rain. Met by club secretary who made us all a cup of tea and opened up the snooker room, promising us the weather would clear soon, great irish hospitality. Within an hour we were out playing in sunshine and clear skies. The Greens and fairways were excellent, butthe one thing this course lacks is maturity but the scenery is outstanding,a par 3 onthe back 9, beside the river was particularly stunning. In about 10-15 years all the trees and shrubs will have matured giving each whole its own secluded identity. Saying that, this course is not easy, pin placements and bunker positioningwould challenge thelowest ofhandicappers. This course waspleasure to play and i would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Waterford area. The hospitality from everyone at the club was excellent, well done Dungarvan. Paul Sullivan, Surrey.
