Dungannon Golf Club can be found in the middle of the lush Irish countryside, set against the backdrop of the hills and Dungannon town itself to the east.

The club is only a few miles away from the beautiful Lough Neagh, the biggest lake on the British Isles, and an unmissable hotspot for any tourists passing through. From the golf club it is less than an hour drive from Belfast City. This means it is well connected to Belfast City Airport, but also in an ideal situation for players who would like to do some sightseeing or perhaps some shopping whilst they are on holiday.

The contrast between the two halves of the course shows the various developments that have taken place over the years. The front 9 holes are based almost entirely on flat ground, whilst the back 9 are on a much more difficult terrain. For a player with an average level of experience, this opposing looking course will challenge you both mentally and physically. This course has rather wide fairways, meaning that the course structure, with its water hazards and bunkers can challenge you even more. Both halves have such individual appeal that playing all 18 holes will be a refreshing and engaging game for golfers with any level of experience.

Dungannon Golf Club is the home of Darren Clarke, winner of the 2011 Open Championship, making Dungannon one of the most famous golf courses in the area. In 2000 he opened their brand new clubhouse and so had the 9th hole named after him. This one in particular is a tricky hole in which the tee is completely protected from the green by a pond. Darren himself holds an honorary Life Membership.

The clubhouse that he opened was built in 2000 to replace the vastly outdated building which had preceded it. It boasts:

  • A lovely restaurant with panoramic views over the 1st tee and 7th green, but also back over Dungannon town itself.
  • There is also a fully licensed bar which opens at 12 every day, staying open right until the close of the club, perfect for grabbing a quick drink at any time after your game.
