Nestled in a stunning valley between the counties of  Wicklow and  Dublin is where you will find the golf course at Dun Laoghaire Golf Club. It sits proudly between the picturesque Wicklow Mountains and the dramatic sea in the Ballyman Glen and offers some of the best views and setting that Ireland has to offer making it an absolute pleasure to play here and its uniqueness is rarely paralleled.

Originally the club was founded in 1910 under the name of Kingstown Golf Club and consisted of 9 holes however this was on a different site to the current one. The current club and course moved to the Ballyman Glen in August 2007 and since then has hosted a number of competitions and tournaments.

Comprising of 27 holes which are in three loops of nine this course gives the players the option to mix and match which they play on. The combined length of all 27 holes is 8743 metres from the yellow tees meaning that the approximate length for 18 holes is between 5800 and 6000 metres and the par for 18 holes will be 72.  Features here have a traditional feel yet combine to create a challenge for many players on this parkland style course.

Dun Laoghaire is well equipped to deal with the needs and demands of players in terms of facilities. The clubhouse boasts three bars as well as a restaurant and a number of lounge areas. High-standard, modern locker rooms are also housed here and there are a number of meeting rooms as well as a snooker room. Finally, there is a professional golf shop staffed by  PGA professionals who can also provide coaching and tuition by prior arrangement.

Tee times for visitors here are fair and vary depending upon  the combination of play desired as the club rotates which are considered as the “main 18” week on week. Green fee rates here are a little steep however when you take in to account the quality of the course and facilities here it is more reasonable. There are also a number of discounts available for play here at selected times throughout the year.

The club and course are generally well connected by road to some of the main areas in  Ireland including Dublin, Wicklow and Enniskerry with the capital offering greater links in terms of rail and air to other locations. With regards to accommodation there are a number of options in and around the local area which should suit most tasted and budgets.
