Donnafugata Golf Resort & Spa - Campo Nord is a magnificent Parkland Course in  Sicily, Italy. With an undulating nature filled with unique Olive and Carob trees, the course was designed by the famous golf architect, Gary Player, and is a signature course for his style. The love for detail is evident in its design and is a delight to every player that plays there. Also, it is only 30 minutes away from Comiso airport, which leaves no excuse to not visit one of  Italy’s top golf courses!

It is filled with amazing features to make it such an incredible golfing experience:

  • the North Course is 18 holes of pure golfing delight that opened in 2009, which has a par of 72 and covers over 5800m;
  • the holes are well spread over the landscape, making the players feel like they are completely surrounded by nature, and the stone walls are a theme throughout the area - glimpses of which can be seen from many of the holes;
  • there are a few sand obstacles around the tree-lined fairways but as each hole is so different it needs a different tactical outlook as you go through each hole. The last few holes are played amongst two lakes that add a perfect blend of nature, trees and water that matches some of the country’s most famous golf courses;
  • if you need to get in some golf exercises before you play then head to the 110 tee driving range where you can test out all the best golf clubs. Alternatively, if you need to improve your short game then the putting and pitching greens are perfect to gain some valuable golf tips while you work on the golf basics.

The weather in Sicily is great for golf all year round due to the hot climate, so you can fly over at any point in the year and be greeted with the Sicilian sun to make the perfect break from work!

If you want to take a break from golf then you can do other activites:

  • you can eat at one of the three restaurants on the golf resort, giving you the opportunity to eat a variety of international gourmet dishes as you drink a glass of wine or beer to relax in the evening. You can even go to the wine bar on site and try a variety of the wines that they have;
  • why not head to the spa and receive a range of treatments and then bask in the sun by the pool  to make a day of ultimate relaxation;
  • you can then head back to the 5* hotel which has a range of rooms from classic to suites that can give you privacy where you can take a bath before you sleep to get ready for the next day!

    We have played both courses in October 2013. On all days, it was about 30 degrees hot and one day blew a strong wind that made play almost impossible.The parkland course has some very interesting ranges (from line 6). The course is lined with olive trees and has really bad rough in many places. It goes sharply up and down - so a cart is.The links course is also very interesting and has some really nice cars. Also, if the course is situated directly on the sea, so a link feeling arises quite.Objectionable, especially the bunkers are the partial, no sand or are peppered with stones.Both courses are quite attractive and you should play it when you're in the vicinity. Then you should think about an overnight stay in the beautiful resort. Is not really much to do it especially close.
