Lying on one of the most eastern parts of Ireland is the Deer Park golf complex and its associated golf courses. Once home to a hotel which sadly closed, the courses here have remained open and this highlights the sheer quality of play that can be had here and the dedication of the staff. The complex is found on a small outcrop of land to the east of the bustling city centre of Dublin. Nearby courses include those at the Howth and St Anne’s Golf Clubs.

The complex here is home to a number of courses, all of which have their own strengths, there is the main Deer Park course as well as two smaller, yet equally enjoyable courses that are known as the Grace O’Malley and St Fintans courses.  There is also a par 3 and a pitch and putt course. All courses here were designed by the renowned Hawtree, a name synonymous with excellent design, and were opened in 1973.

Consisting of 18 holes the Deer Park course is the main course here and is of a beautiful parkland style. Measuring 6323 metres this course has a par of 72 and is a tough test of golf for players of all strengths and skill sets. Deer Park is sure to be an enjoyable test of golf for players of all standards and it is clear to see why this is the leading course here.

As the hotel is now closed, facilities at the club are not as extensive as they once were however they are still very good. There is a bar area which operates as the clubhouse for players and all are sure to receive a warm Irish welcome as well as a drink or three from there. A number of items are also available to hire from here which will help to facilitate play.

Tee time availability here is very good overall thanks to the sheer number of courses and facilities however as Deer Park is the main course the demand is obviously higher here. That said, there should be a time to suit all by prior arrangement. Green fee rates here are very reasonable and offer good value for money for such a good course.

Thanks to the proximity with the capital Dublin, transport links to the site from much of the rest of Ireland as well as nearby Northern Ireland are good. Accommodation options in and around the local area are plentiful and there should be something to appeal to most tastes and budgets.

Love this course. Very wide fairways and big greens making it an ideal course for those starting out. Fantastic Views of Howth and the seas beyond from the course. Beautiful mature parkland course kept in very good condition.

Most boring course I've ever played, flat and long, for a beginner this course would be a nightmare. Best money I spent was on getting the buggy so I could get it over with quick.
