Situated in the town of Naas in County Kildare, Ireland is the championship standard golf course at the Craddockstown Golf Club. This somewhat of a hidden gem is nestled upon some of the finest Irish countryside yet remains easily accessible from much of the rest of the country including the capital Dublin which is less than 40 minutes away by car.

The course was opened in 1991 and was created by the duo of Dr Arthur Spring and Roger Jones. Its parkland style nature is set in an excellent location and it is not uncommon to see the abundance of local wildlife whilst playing here which further adds to this enjoyable course.

Its 18 holes measure just short of 5500 metres from the yellow tees and offer a par of 72. Here you should expect a number of features designed to challenge and test you including some heavily tree-line fairways and clever, effective water hazards. Combine this with deceptively slick greens and you are sure to enjoy this tough yet empowering course. This is a course with wide appeal and is one that can be just as suitable for golfers with a lot of experience as those with very little.

Although Craddockstown has a strong membership rate, visitors are warmly welcomed by all here and the facilities are extensive and well-appointed. There is a full bar and restaurant within the clubhouse as well as a well-stocked professional golf shop which can provide players with equipment and apparel. Golf tuition and coaching are also available here and a number of special rates and offers are available for those wanting a number of lessons.

As this course is popular with societies as well as members it does mean that tee times here can be restricted at certain times for visitors. Saturdays tend to be reserved generally for members however there may be some later timeslots available. The course often plays host to a number of open competitions throughout the year which are open to both members and visitors.  As the course is a popular one it is highly recommended to book well in advance so as to secure the best timesand to avoid disappointment. Green fee rates here offer great value for money and further add to its appeal for many.

Thanks to its proximity to Dublin the club is well connected to both the rest of Ireland as well as the rest of the world due to the airports and ferry terminals. Connections to the nearby United Kingdom are also good. Accommodation options in and around the area are generous and there are a number of hotels as well as B&B’s that should cater to the needs of most here. For those looking for something different the metropolitan hub of Dublin should suit all.
