Clontarf Golf Club and its golf course can be found in the east of Ireland within the historical County Dublin. The course is found just to the northeast of the bustling city centre of the capital and there is plenty to see and do in the local area for visitors of all ages. The city is the birthplace of the world famous Guinness and a true visit here isn’t complete without sampling a pint of the black stuff, but if that’s not for you the city still has plenty to offer in terms of art, culture and food plus much, much more.

The club recently celebrated its centenary as it was founded in 1912, the club has a rich and interesting history and has seen its fair share of colourful events. The course here was designed by the famous Harry S.Colt who worked extensively on courses throughout Ireland as well as in nearby England and Wales. However the course here perhaps the smallest of his creations and is without doubt one of the most compact course within Europe.

Comprising of 18 holes the course is of a parkland style and is a pleasant test for most players and their abilities. The course measures 5381 metres from the blue tees and has a par of 69. Expect rolling fairways and gently contoured terrain interspersed with mature trees and cleverly placed bunkers to provide a good amount of a challenge. Greens are quick and well maintained and all are sure to find this a challenging yet enjoyable course.

Facilities at the club are extensive and well-appointed to meet the needs of all. There is a restaurant offering an array of meals and cuisines and there is also an extensive lounge area and west wing complete with bar for players to unwind in. There is also a separate television room and the changing and locker facilities were recently refurbished in 2011 to the highest of standards.

Visitors are warmly welcomed here and tee time availability is fair although the best way for visitors to experience and enjoy the club is perhaps through one of the many Open Competitions that take place here throughout the year and are open to all. Green fee rates are reasonable and reflect the nature and quality of the course.

The club is well connected to the rest of Ireland and the nearby United Kingdom as well as the rest of the world thanks to its proximity with the capital Dublin. Accommodation options are in abundance here and there is sure to be something to suit everyone from small, quaint B&B’s to luxurious boutique hotels, Dublin has it all.
