Castlewarden Golf Club and its golf course can be found within County Kildare near to the border with County Dublin in the East of Ireland. The course here is a true hidden Irish gem in the crown of the Emerald Isle and it lies in the Leinster province. Set in a large area of prime Irish countryside this course makes the most of the natural surroundings and the beautiful countryside and players here are sure to appreciate the amazing views that can be had.

The club here opened originally in 1990 and is owned by the members. The first layout and design was undertaken by the well-known Tommy Halpin whose efforts were further enhanced by Bobby Browne in 1993 when he was commissioned to redevelop and upgrade this course to make it even stronger.

Consisting of 18 holes, the course here is of a beautiful parkland style which has a very traditional feel. It measures just short of 5650 metres from the yellow tees and has a par of 72. Features here have a very traditional feel and the extensive estate on which the course is set provides some excellent undulating terrain and mature trees. This is an enjoyable course which will be a good test for golfers of varying skill sets and levels.

Facilities at the club are good and are housed in the modern clubhouse. There is a welcoming bar and restaurant area which players can enjoy after their rounds as well as modern locker and changing facilities. The club is also home to a resident PGA professional and there is a pro golf shop selling a variety of merchandise, equipment and apparel. Practice facilities are also good and include driving, pitching and chipping areas and there is also a walled putting green upon which players can further hone their skills.

Tee times for visitors to this course have fair availability if players are willing to avoid the most popular playing times or days. Green fee rates here are very reasonable and reflect good value for money. The club also hosts a number of open competitions throughout the year which can be enjoyed by members and visitors alike.

Road links to the club are good and getting here should not be a problem for the majority of visitors from the rest of Ireland as well as Northern Ireland. Accommodation options in and around the local area are good and there should be something to appeal to most tastes and budgets.
