Situated in the South West of Ireland within the Castlerosse Hotel and Holiday homes complex is a lovely little golf course which deserves far more recognition. Found in County Kerry near to the town of Killarney the beauty of this location is unrivalled and offers views over some stunning natural features such as the Killarney National Park and the Macgillicuddy Reeks which are the highest mountains in Ireland. Fellow nearby courses include those at the Killarney Golf and Fishing Club which is just next door.
As the golf course is part of the larger resort it is quite modern and was originally opened for play in 2001 and since then it has matured into a good golf course and with time it will only further improve.
The course here consists of nine holes which measure 2745 metres from the white tees and have a par of 36. It is of a parkland style and features here include some nicely undulating greens and fairways as well as a significant amount of mature trees and woodland. The views from the course are one of its best features and players here are sure to enjoy a picturesque and moderately straightforward game which makes this course ideal for players of all levels.
Due to the fact that the course is part of a resort the facilities here are very good and include an onsite pub and restaurant as well as a number of leisure facilities and a spa.
With regards to green fees and tee times for this course it is mainly played by visitors to the hotel or holiday homes on the resort and the green fees tend to be included in the price of the stay. Tee times also have good overall availability however they are once again mainly for residents of the hotel and holiday homes. That aside the club offers a number of membership deals and packages which involve other courses in the local area and unlimited play there.
The resort is relatively well connected by road to much of the south of Ireland and major cities such as Cork which is 86km has better links to the rest of the country as well as further afield. The obvious accommodation option here are the attached holiday homes and hotels which have a wide selection of room types which will suit visitors of all ages and tastes.

Average rating obtained byThis rating for Castlerosse Golf Club. is the average of 1 ratings obtained from www.ukgolfguide.comPlayed during middle February 2008. Tees, fairways and greens in good condition. Some holes have wide open fairways, while others are tight with water or trees. A few doglegs make for interesting holes. A few holes with fairly large traps near holes. Not too hard if accurate off the tee, but will pay for poor shots. Just one minute from Killarney town center, but beautiful scenery of Kerry surrounds the course.
