The golf course at the Castleisland Golf Club can be found in the southwest of Ireland in the county of Kerry. It is located just under 20km to the east of Tralee, which is the county town, meaning that local amenities near to the site are good and visitors are sure to find plenty to see and do here. Examples of just some of the places of interest for visitors include the Blennerville Windmill which is the largest functioning one of its kind in Ireland and the beautiful Ballyseedy Wood. There is sure to be something here for both golfers and non-golfers to enjoy.

Both the club and course here are fairly modern by Irish standards and both were created in 2002. Designed by the well-known Dr Arthur Spring, the course here is a great example of his work and the clever use of some of the already mature surroundings means that the course feels far more mature than its relatively young age would suggest.

Comprising of 18 holes the course here is of a beautiful parkland style and has a par of 71. From the white tees it stretches a distance of 5622 metres. This is a course with all the modern features yet still has a good mature feel, greens and tees are sand based and are of the highest championship standard. The unique terrain here is undulating however the architect has worked cleverly to make this an easy course to walk. A fair course with a good share of challenge is a good way to describe Castleisland.

Facilities at the club are fair and players will find all of the amenities that they should need to help facilitate their play here. There is a well-stocked professional golf shop offering a number of international brands as well as a number of hire items such as buggies and trolleys.

Tee time availability for visitors to this course is generally good and players should have no problem in finding a suitable time as long as they are willing to avoid peak times which are reserved for members such as weekends. Green fee rates are also very reasonable and there are a number of discounts and offers available to play here depending upon the status of the player (i.e. Student, Family)

Getting to the club is relatively straightforward from much of the south and central Ireland and onward links from nearby Tralee are strong. There are a number of accommodation options in and around the local area which should also appeal to most tastes and budgets.
