County Donegal is home to a number of excellent golf courses meaning that the one at Bundoran Golf Club is in great company. Perched overlooking the churning Atlantic Ocean the course is found in the northwest of the country and is laid out over the rugged coastline of Donegal Bay. The course lies to the north of the quaint seaside town of Bundoran itself which over recent years has become a popular tourist destination.

The club was founded in 1894 and the course here was originally laid out by Harry Vardon who worked on many courses throughout the country during his life.

Due to its location the style of this course is hard to define however on the whole this is best described as a parkland course but with very strong links characteristics which make for interesting and exciting play. Its 18 holes have a par of 73 and measure some 4880 metres from the yellow tees. The course here has a fair share of features and demands respect from players of all levels and abilities however an enjoyable round is sure to be had by most here.

Facilities at the club are very good and the clubhouse was recently renovated in 2010. Here you will find good changing and shower facilities that can be used by all players as well as professional golf shop offering a number of items for sale and hire. There is also a comfortable bar and lounge area offering a selection of hot and cold snacks. With regards to practice facilities there is a generous putting green as well as a practice fairway on which players can hone their skills.

Tee time availability for visitors to this course is generally good and there should be a time suitable for all if visitors are willing to avoid peak times such as weekends. Green fee rates are reasonable here when you consider the quality of the course and the facilities and there are a number of discounts available throughout the year for play here.

Although the club may at first seem secluded, it is easy to access much of the rest of Ireland as well as Northern Ireland as the border is very close. Thanks to the popularity of the nearby seaside town of Bundoran accommodation options here are plentiful with many located very close to the course.
