The stunning golf course at the Belvoir Park Golf Club is located in the east of Northern Ireland and is a regular feature on the compilation lists of top golf courses both within the country itself as well as the entirety of the United Kingdom. Lying in County Antrim, the club is located very close to the popular and vibrant capital of Belfast and visitors from the rest of the United Kingdom as well as from nearby Ireland will have no trouble in accessing the area.
Founded in 1927, the club here is steeped in history and has developed in to a popular and prestigious golfing stalwart of the country. The course was originally laid out by the infamous Harry Colt who throughout his illustrious career worked on courses across the globe from Hertfordshire to Holland. Over the years this timeless design has matured well and has seen many renowned golfers play here including Peter Alliss and Rory McIlroy.
Set in an expansive estate of mature woodland, the course is of a classical parkland style and is undulating in its nature. Measuring 6113 metres from the medal tees for gentlemen, this 18 hole course has a par of 71 and is a true test of golf for even the most accomplished of players. The reputation of this course may proceed it, however it is true when they say that this is one of the best inland courses in Ireland and there is no doubt that this is a definitively tough course yet one which is sure to be enjoyed by all that play here.
With regards to facilities, the club is excellently appointed to meet the needs of all modern golfers. In the spacious clubhouse you will find both a bar and restaurant for all to enjoy after their rounds where they can partake in everything from a quiet informal drink to a three course meal. There is also an extensive pro shop on site offering a fantastic array of goods from a number of major international brands, this is also where buggies can be hired from (although it should be noted that numbers are limited and prior booking is highly recommended so as to avoid disappointment).
As this is a popular club with members, the availability of tee times for visitors here is somewhat restricted. That said, visitors are more than welcome here if they can find a suitable tee time. Green fee rates may, at first, seem steep however they reflect the quality and prestige of both the club and course and are therefore fair value.
Due to its proximity with the capital, Belfast access to the site from the rest of the country as well as nearby Ireland by road is good and the nearby airport offers a great selection of flights to many more international locations. Accommodation options for visitors to this course are extensive and there is sure to be something to suit everyone in bustling Belfast.
