Less than half an hour’s drive away from the capital Dublin is where you will find the Beech Park Golf Club and its golf course. Found in County Dublin towards the East of Ireland this club is in a blessed location as the cosmopolitan hub of Dublin is close yet this is still a quiet and scenic course which can be enjoyed by most. It is just outside of the small village of Rathcoole.

The course here was opened for play back in 1983 and was designed by the legendary Eddie Hackett. Hackett worked on many courses throughout his long and full life including many others in Ireland such as those at Enniscrone and Killarney and a number in the nearby United Kingdom also.

Made up of 18 holes, this Par 72 course is of a lovely parkland style and the course measures some 5540 metres from the yellow tees. Features here combine to make for a testing course with a good amount of challenge for most golfers. Expect a lot of mature woodland and trees here as well as a number of tricky dog legs. Overall this is an excellent course with the traditional Hackett hallmark and one which has universal appeal both geographically and skill-wise.

Facilities here include a bar and restaurant which player can enjoy after their rounds, here they are sure to receive a warm Irish welcome. There is also a well-stocked professional golf shop offering an array of international brands. Also there are a number of items available to hire and golf tuition and coaching are available by prior arrangement from the club’s professional. Practice facilities include a putting and chipping green and a number of practice nets with which players can hone their skills and technique.

Tee times for visitors to this course are reasonable and there is likely to be a time to suit all. Green fee rates for visitors here are also very reasonable and offer good value for money. It should be noted that both tee times and green fee rates for this course are subject to change with the seasons.

Transport links to this club are excellent thanks to its proximity with the capital and access to much of the rest of the country as well as nearby Northern Ireland is good. Accommodation options are also plentiful in the nearby area and visitors are sure to find something locally to suit all tastes and budgets.

Just played it yesterday in calm conditions. The course starts off easy enough and gets more difficult. By the time you get to the 14th tee box you realise that it is a cracking golf course that makes you think about every shot. I have to say that the condition of the course (for March) was excellent. Well worth a spin around for 30 Euro
