Found within County Cork in the south of Ireland is the golf course at Bandon Golf Club. The course lies just outside of the town from which is takes its name which is also sometimes referred to as the “Gateway to West Cork”. The town is steeped in history and is well known for a number of festivals that take place here every year. It has also been referred to in a number of literary works including the world famous Harry Potter series as the fictitious home of the “Bandon Banshee”.

Originally founded in 1909 the golf club here was made up of 9 holes before being extended in the 1970’s to the full eighteen holes. Since its extension the course here has matured and developed well and is a popular course with locals and visitors alike.

Measuring 4950 from the yellow tees this is a par 71 course that is made up of 18 holes. The parkland style here is sympathetic and there is a good selection of features which will entertain and test golfers of all skill levels.

Facilities at the club are good and players should find everything that they need here. There is a welcoming bar and restaurant area for players to enjoy serving a wide selection of food and drink to all. There is also a well-appointed professional golf shop here providing a good selection of merchandise, equipment and apparel.

Green fee rates here are reasonable and reflect the nature of the course and facilities. Tee time availability for visitors here is fair and there should be a time to suit all if booked far enough in advance. That said the club is home to a number of tournaments and open competitions on a regular basis and is therefore a popular choice with many.

Road links to the club are fair and visitors should have no problem in getting here from nearby Cork or Clonakilty which lie to the north and south of the site respectively. Accommodation options in and around the area are plentiful and there should be something to suit all tastes.
