Balmoral Golf Club and its associated golf course can be found in the east of Northern Ireland just south of the capital Belfast. In a country synonymous with excellent golf, Balmoral is in some excellent company and there are a number of installations nearby such as the Dunmurry and Belvoir Park golf clubs. Thanks to its location near to the bustling city centre of vibrant Belfast there is plenty for visitors to see and do here making it an ideal location for a golfing getaway.

The foundations of the club date back to 1914 and the club has recently celebrated its centenary with a number of festivities. Obviously, the country has a rich and interesting history which spans decades and is something which the club is proud of. The course here has seen a number of designers over the years including David Jones who has worked on courses in destinations from Turkey to Tanzania.

Measuring just short of 5700 metres from the white tees for gentlemen the course here has a par of 69. The course is of a parkland style and the features are as to be expected, players will encounter a good presence of mature trees as well as gently undulating terrain. The greens here are perfectly maintained and well-guarded so as to demand accuracy from even the most prolific of players. Players should be wary of the bunkers here which are diverse and tricky and are sure to add interest to anyone’s game.

The club is well-equipped to meet the needs of all and is the home to not one but two well-stocked bars in which all are sure to receive a warm and friendly welcome. There is also a restaurant at the site offering a great selection of dishes for players to enjoy after their rounds. Furthermore the club is home to an extensive pro shop offering a great selection of equipment and apparel from a number of international brands and the club’s resident professional will always be on hand to offer advice and assistance on all aspects of your game.

Tee time availability for visitors to this course is generally fair and there is sure to be a time to suit all if arranged in advance. Peak times such as weekends also have a more restricted availability. Green fee rates here are reasonable and reflect the nature of the course and facilities, again these are subject to change with the season.

Thanks to its proximity with the capital Belfast transport links to the rest of the country as well as the rest of the United Kingdom and nearby Ireland are strong. There are also a number of accommodation providers in and around the local area that are sure to appeal to the tastes, needs and budgets of most visitors.
