Located within central western Ireland is the golf course at the Ballyneety Golf Club. Found within Co. Limerick, this course can be found just 10 km to the south of the bustling city of Limerick meaning that there is plenty to see and do in the local area for both golfers and non-golfers alike. Just some places of interest in and around Limerick include St Johns Castle and St Mary’s Cathedral.

The club here is very modern by Irish standards and was only formed relatively recently in 1994 and has quickly become a popular installation on the golfing map of many within the country. The course here was designed by the dynamic duo Ryder Cup player Des Smyth and Declan Brannigan, the Irish Amateur International player and it is a credit to their experience and talents.

Measuring just under 5110 metres from the yellow tees this parkland style course has a par of 72. Features of this championship standard course include gentle slopes and undulations as well as US PGA standard tees and greens. The surrounding natural environment further adds to the experience here and the views that can be seen of nearby Limerick city are charming. Overall this is an enjoyable and well maintained course which can be enjoyed by a variety of golfers of all strengths.

Facilities at Ballyneety are good and include a welcoming grill restaurant and wine bar offering a fantastic selection of food and drink to both players and the public. There are also modern changing facilities and showers and there is equipment available to hire in the form of clubs, buggies and trolleys which should help to facilitate play. There is also a well-stocked professional golf shop offering a wide range of merchandise, equipment and apparel and the onsite golf professionals will be more than happy to help with purchases and advice.

Tee times for visitors to this course have good overall availability although it is somewhat restricted at weekends. Green fee rates are very reasonable here and offer good value for money for all players. Both green fees and tee times are subject to change with the seasons and prior booking is highly recommended so as to avoid disappointment.

Thanks to its proximity with the city of Limerick access to the club from much of the rest of Ireland as well as Northern Ireland is good. With regards to accommodation, the obvious choice for visitors is the city centre which boasts a whole range of accommodation options from quaint family run guesthouses to chic, boutique hotels, there will be something to suit all.
