Found towards the east of Ireland within County Wicklow is the golf course at the Ballinastoe Golf Club. Wicklow is home to a great number of excellent golf courses including those at the Greystones and Glen of the Downs’ golf clubs meaning that the club and course here are in very good company and the county is a popular choice for golfers from both near and far. The location is also well suited to receive visitors from further afield as the capital city of Dublin is only around 30 km to the north of the site.

The club here has a mysterious history and little is known about its founders and early life. What is known is that the course here is somewhat of a hidden gem which is tucked away in the stunning Wicklow countryside and all players are sure to appreciate that fact when they visit here.

The course here is made up of nine holes meaning that players can either enjoy just a round of nine or double up and partake in eighteen. Measuring 3044 metres from the white tees the nine holes here have a par of 35. Features of this course combine to create a deceptively tricky course which is a lot more challenging than first sight would have you believe. Excellent natural drainage combined with well-manicured greens combine to make this course playable all year round which further adds to its appeal.

Facilities at the club are fair and players are sure to find more things that they should need here. The club offers a number of coaching and tuition options for those wanting to improve their game and these are provided by a local PGA professional.

Tee time availability for visitors here is good and although members have priority there should be a time to suit all. Green fee rates are very reasonable and offer good value for money making this an accessible golfing option for many.

As Wicklow is close to the capital Dublin transport links to the club are good by car and visitors should have no problem in finding suitable accommodation in and around the local area which should appeal to most tasted and budgets.
