Located in the east of Ireland within County Westmeath is the golf course at the Ashbourne Golf Club. The site lies almost halfway between the capital city of Dublin and the industrial port town of Drogheda meaning that links in and around the local area are good and there is plenty for visitors to see and do. This magnificent course can be found in some prime Irish countryside and is the perfect setting for an enjoyable round of golf in the region.

The club was founded in 1991 by a group of locals from the Ashbourne area and work began on the course which opened for play in the summer of 1994. It was designed here by the excellent duo of Des Smyth and Declan Brannigan who have worked on a number of courses across the country (and the world) both individually and as a team meaning the course here is in good company.

Of a championship standard, parkland style the course has 18 holes. From the white tees it measures a distance of 5717 metres and has a par of 71. The course has a very traditional feel and greens here are undulating and very well maintained. Players of all levels should enjoy their time here and are sure to have an enjoyable experience.

Facilities at the club are very good and there is a welcoming bar and restaurant area for players to enjoy. There is also a well-stocked professional golf shop offering a variety of equipment, merchandise and apparel which is staffed by the clubs resident PGA professional who will be on hand to offer help and advice on all golfing matters.

Tee time availability for visitors to this course if fair and there should be a time for all is booked far enough in advance. Weekend availability is somewhat more restricted also. Green fee rates here are very reasonable and there are a number of discounts and packages to play here at certain times of the week and season. The club also hosts a number of open competitions throughout the year which can be enjoyed by visitors and members alike.

Transport links to the club from much of the rest of Ireland are good and visitors should have no problem in finding this location. The club has a number of links with accommodation providers in and around the local area so there should be something to suit all.
