Located in County Kerry on one of the most far western fringes of Ireland is the golf course at Ardfert Golf Club. This secluded course can be found to the North of the small, ancient village of the same name. The surrounding area is home to a number of other courses such as Ballyheigue Castle meaning that Ardfert is in good company and visitors here can enjoy a number of golf courses in one visit.

The golf club here was founded back in the September of 1993 and a number of local golfing enthusiast and revered players were asked to help create the course. Having recently celebrated its 20th birthday the course here has matured well since its opening and is an overall enjoyable course which can be played on by golfers of most levels.

Comprising of nine holes, this course is of a beautiful parkland style and measures just over 2960 metres from the white tees. This Par 35 course is gently undulating and has a number of natural features that should test all golfers. Said natural features include rivers and streams as well as mature woodland and trees. Overall this is enjoyable and is sure to be enjoyed by golfers of most levels.

Facilities here are fair and include a clubhouse offering a selection of refreshments and a warm, Irish welcome. A number of items are also available to hire from this club including trolleys, buggies and golf clubs which will help to facilitate play here.

Tee times for visitors to this course are fair however availability at the weekend is somewhat restricted and general availability changes with the seasons. Green fee rates here are very reasonable too and offer good value for money. Membership presence here is strong and there are a number of attractive membership options for players to enjoy.

Access to the club from much of the rest of Ireland is fair considering that it is somewhat secluded. The nearest transport hub is that of Tralee that is around 11 km to the South of the site and links from there are even stronger. Accommodation options in and around the local area are fair and there should be something to appeal to most tastes and budgets.

A wonderful place, played it for Christmas 2010. Despite previous century snowfall and subsequent rain, the place was very well playable. Deposited as for Ireland usual in the letter box the green fee. by water hazards, gloriously to play borders and doglegs. On the last hole, one is more of a design, and inspired by the Schwirigkeit. the hole for photos if as with us even a rainbow comes out.
