In County Louth towards the North East of Ireland is where you will find the golf course at Ardee Golf Club. At less than 30km away from the major town of Drogheda the club is near to the border that the country shares with the United Kingdom. Players here are sure to enjoy the challenge and beauty of this course and it is clear to see why it is a popular choice with all.

The club itself was founded over 100 years ago in 1911 and recently celebrated its centenary. Originally consisting of just 9 holes the course here was extended in the 1980’s to the full 18 holes however it wasn’t until the 90’s that the course saw some major remodelling and redevelopment when the club acquired further land.

Measuring 5750 metres from the white tees this course has a par of 71 and is of a parkland style. Features here combine to create a tough but fair course and include elements such as a number of tricky dog legs, sand and water hazards as well as mature trees and undulating terrain. This is an enjoyable course with a good array of features which should coax some excellent play from even the most advanced of golfers.

With regards to facilities, the club is well-equipped to meet the needs of all players and there is a large clubhouse here which was opened in 2003. Here you will find a welcoming bar and restaurant which players are sure to enjoy and there is also a well-stocked professional golf shop offering merchandise from a number of international brands. Furthermore there is also a practice putting green for use by paying players which is useful for those wishing to hone their skills.

Tee time availability for visiting players is fair here and if booked far enough in advance there should be a time to suit all. Green fee rates are also reasonable and there are a number of discounts and offers available for play here which give even greater value for money. The club also hosts a number of open competitions throughout the course of the year which are open to all.

The club is relatively well connected to much of the north of Ireland as well as nearby Northern Ireland and there are many larger towns and cities which offer even better transport links. Accommodation options in and around the local area are fair and there should be something to appeal to all tastes and budgets.
